Graduate of the choral school named after Sveshnikov and the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in the specialties: choral conducting and opera and symphonic conducting.

From 2008 to 2011 — Artistic Director and Conductor of the Choir of the Gnessin State Musical College, a teacher in conducting.

Since 2011 — a teacher at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory Since 2011 — Conductor of the State Academic Symphony Capella of Russia (artistic director Valery Polyansky). Since 2014 — Guest Conductor of the Bolshoi Theater and Music Director of the first Baroque Festival at the Bolshoi Theater (season 2014/2015). Philipp Chizhevsky directed the premiere of Sergei Nevsky’s opera «Francis» at the Bolshoi Theater, the premiere of Michael Nyman’s opera «Prologue to Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas» in Perm, Mozart’s opera «Così fan tutte» at the Buryat State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (stage director Hans-Joachim Fry), the staging of the musical and stage work of I. Stravinsky «The Stories of a Soldier» (choreography by Oleg Glushkov), the staging of G. Purcell’s opera «Dido and Aeneas» (director and choreographer Alisher Khasanov), the staging of Handel’s oratorio «Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno» on the small stage of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre (directed by Konstantin Bogomolov), the staging of the opera series «Drillians» on the stage of the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre (author of the idea and stage director Boris Yukhananov), the performance of the opera «The Fairy Queen» by G.Persell on historical instruments, together with V.Yurovsky and F.Ibragimov carried out the Russian premiere of the work of Stockhausen «Group» for three orchestras and three conductors, the premiere of Offenbach’s opera-buff «Perikola» on the chamber stage of the Bolshoi Theater (directed by Philipp Grigorian), etc.

One of the priority directions of Chizhevsky’s creative activity is cooperation with contemporary composers and the performance of music of the XX–XI centuries. Under the direction of Philipp Chizhevsky, the premieres of the following compositions were held: B. Filanovsky, S. Nevsky, V. Rannev, A. Syumak, K. Bodrov, D. Kurlyandsky, B. Furrer, A. Gushchan, S. Sharrino, P. Karmanov, O. Adameca, etc.

Chizhevsky collaborates with leading Russian and foreign orchestras, including Tokyo New City Orchestra, Brno Philharmonic Orchestra (chief conductor — Alexander Markovits), Brandenburgische Staatsorchester (artistic director Howard Griffiths), Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, the theatre orchestra of «Novaya Opera “ (chief conductor Jan Latham-Koenig), The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia (artistic director Vladimir Spivakov), The Novaya Rossiya ('New Russia') State Symphony Orchestra (artistic director Yuri Bashmet), Russian Philharmonic Orchestra (artistic director Dmitry Yurovsky), the State Academic Symphony Orchestra named after E.F. Svetlanova (artistic director Vladimir Yurovsky), Musica Viva Orchestra (artistic director Alexander Rudin), Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra (artistic director Pavel Kogan), Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra (artistic director Vladimir Fedoseev) and others.

With the violinist Roman Mints, he recorded a disc of the compositions of Leonid Desyatnikov («Sketches for Sunset» and «Russian Seasons»). With pianist Andrei Gugnin and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, they recorded a piano concerto by the Croatian composer Boris Papandopulo.
